The Markit VCS Registry is a 24 hour, fully on-line registry facility. All projects, issuances, transfers, retirements, inquiries and reporting can be undertaken at any time in any time zone.
The Markit VCS Registry allows you to enter and manage all VCU project details. These can be entered at any stage in a project lifecycle, and then tracked throughout until issuance.
Full user information can be found on the "User Only Section" on this website, and accessed with an appropriate user name and password.
Markit VCS Registry will issue VCUs on the Registry once the operations team is satisfied that all VCS issuance and the Markit Rules of Registry (Terms and Conditions) have been met. These processes include all relevant reports (including validation, verification, deed of convenent etc), GPS location checks, other registry / database listing checks.) Please refer to the Markit VCS Issuance Process Document held on the users only section for further information.

The Markit VCS Registry will list all version 1 VCUs on Registry today.
You can also enter all VCU projects immediately. These can remain in a "pending" state until the Voluntary Carbon Standard Association (VCSA) gives the authorisation that the Registry is permitted to list these.
In the meantime the Markit Environmental Registry can issue these credits as "Pre-VCU VERs". This way all relevant checks can be undertaken for a normal issuance, a serial number applied, and can therefore be transferred as necessary. Once the VCSA has given its approval for Registry issuances then these "Pre-VCU VERs" will be converted to VCUs and the correct VCU serial number applied.
With offices in the USA, UK and Asia Pacific the Markit VCS Registry is always available to answer any questions you may have. For further information please contact us.
